Indian Head Massage is a truly holistic therapy in that has many physiological and psychological benefits. The traditional art of Indian Head Massage is based on the ancient system of healing known as 'Ayurveda', which has been practiced in India for thousands of years.

The word 'Ayurveda' comes from Sanskrit and means 'the science of life and longevity'.

The Ayurvedic approach to health is based on the balance of mind, body and spirit and the promotion of long, healthy life. It recommends the use of massage, together with a natural diet, meditation and exercise.

Indian Head Massage includes the face, scalp, neck, shoulders and upper back. It can be performed using oils, as a dry massage or any combination of the two. It is perfect for the treatment and relief of tension and stress that has accumulated in the tissues, joints and muscles.

It is especially effective for relieving general stress, tension, fatigue, insomnia, headaches and migraines. Clients tell me that the experience is deeply calming and relaxing, leaving them feeling energised and revitalised and better able to concentrate.

Within Ayurveda, as in many other beliefs from all around the world, the body is said to contain seven energy centres; the Chakras.

The flow of energy between these centres is believed to have a huge effect on a person's wellbeing. They do not work independently of each other. A dysfunction any of them can effect each of the others.

I have found that an element of Chakra balancing at the end of an Indian Head Massage session massively complements the effect of the treatment for the client.

It is included as standard at the end of any treatment. However, you can choose to omit it if you so wish.

Indian Head Massage sessions are most effective when taken regularly for a period of time, every week or fortnight, for example. This allows the effects to build up over the course of treatments.

Please note that your modesty is respected at all times during any treatment
